Set up Google Analytics

To set up Google Analytics for your website, you’ll need to:

1. Create a Google Analytics account
2. Install the Google Analytics tracking code on your website
3. Set up goals in Google Analytics

Creating a Google Analytics account is free, and only takes a few minutes. Once you’ve created your account, you can install the Google Analytics tracking code on your website. The tracking code is a snippet of JavaScript that collects data about your website visitors and sends it to Google Analytics.

Once the tracking code is installed, you can begin setting up goals in Google Analytics. Goals are specific actions that you want your website visitors to take, such as signing up for a newsletter or making a purchase. You can use goals to measure how well your website is performing in terms of conversion rate (the percentage of visitors who take the desired action).

Rankings

As of September 2nd, 2019, the Texas Tech football team is ranked at 19 in the AP poll and 20 in the Coaches poll.

Identify your competitors

In order to identify your competitors, you need to first understand what factors make your product or service unique. Identifying these uniquefactors will help you understand how customers perceive your business and what they value most. By understanding these factors, you can begin to identify who your competitors are and how they might be positioned in the marketplace.

To identify your competitors, start by brainstorming a list of businesses that offer a similar product or service. Once you have a list of potential competitors, research each one to find out more about their business. Look for information such as:

-The products or services they offer
-How long they have been in business
-Their target customer base
-Their geographic location
-Any unique selling points or features they have

Conduct a keyword gap analysis

A keyword gap analysis is the process of identifying which keywords your competitors are ranking for that you are not. This is valuable intelligence because it allows you to invest in the keywords that your competitors are already successful with and gives you a better chance at ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs).

To conduct a keyword gap analysis, first, make a list of all of the keywords you want to rank for. Then, use a tool like SEMrush or Moz Keyword Explorer to research which keywords your competitors are ranking for. Finally, compare your list of keywords to your competitor’s list to see which ones you are missing.

Here is an example of a keyword gap analysis for the term “Texas Tech football”:

Competitor A is ranking for the following keywords:
-Texas Tech football
-Texas Tech football recruiting
-Texas Tech football schedule
-Texas Tech football tickets
-Texas Tech Football news

Competitor B is ranking for the following keywords:
-Texas Tech football rankings
-Texas Tech football roster
-Texas Tech football score

You are not ranking for any of these keywords.

Find your main ‘money’ keywords

When it comes to SEO, your main goal should be to get your website to rank as high up in the search engine results pages (SERPs) as possible. This can be a tough challenge, but it’s well worth it: the higher your website ranks, the more traffic you’re likely to get.

One way to improve your website’s ranking is to use certain “money” keywords throughout your site. These are keywords that are often searched for by people who are looking for products or services like yours. If you can get your website to rank for these keywords, you’re likely to see a significant increase in traffic.

To find money keywords relevant to your business, try using a keyword tool like Google AdWords Keyword Planner. Just enter a few seed keywords related to your business, and the Keyword Planner will generate a list of dozens (or even hundreds) of potential money keywords.

Technical SEO

We are currently in the process of optimizing our website for technical SEO. This includes on-page optimization such as optimizing title tags, meta descriptions, and header tags. We are also working on increasing our website’s speed and improving our mobile responsive design.

Leverage “Inspect URL” feature in GSC

If you want to check whether your pages are correctly optimized for Google, you can use the “Inspect URL” feature in Google Search Console (GSC). This tool allows you to see how Google interprets your page, and whether there are any errors that need to be fixed.

To use this tool, simply enter the URL of the page you want to check into the “Inspect URL” field in GSC and click “Inspect.” Google will then show you a report that includes information on any errors they found, as well as suggestions for how to fix them.

Be sure to fix any errors that Google finds on your pages, as this can help improve your ranking in search results. In addition, make sure to keep an eye out for any new features or changes in GSC so that you can stay up-to-date on all the latest news from Google.

Ensure your website is mobile-friendly

One of the most important ranking factors for Google is whether your website is mobile-friendly or not. In fact, Google’s mobile-first indexing means that they’re now using the mobile version of your website to rank you in the search results.

So, if you’re not already thinking about mobile, you need to start now. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to ensure your website is mobile-friendly:

1. Use a responsive design: This means that your website will resize itself to fit whatever screen size it’s being viewed on. This is the recommended approach by Google and it will make your life much easier in the long run.

2. Use separate URLs for mobile and desktop versions: If you’re unable to use a responsive design, then you can use separate URLs for your mobile and desktop versions. However, this approach is more complex and difficult to manage in the long run.

3. Use AMP pages: Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) are special versions of your web pages that are optimized for speed and performance on mobile devices. If you’re using WordPress, then there are AMP plugins that can help you create AMP pages easily.

4. Use app Indexing: If you have a mobile app, then you can use app indexing to get your app content indexed by Google and shown in the search results. This can be a great way to boost traffic to your app as well as your website.

5. Use structured data: Structured data helps Google understand the contents of your web pages better and can result in richer snippets in the search results. This can help attract more clicks and traffic to your website.

Check your site’s loading speed

Slow website speed is a major problem for any businesses seeking to rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). Not only can it negatively impact user experience, but it can also lead to lower search engine rankings.

That’s why it’s important to regularly check your website’s loading speed and take steps to improve it. There are a number of tools that can help you do this, but we recommend using Google’s PageSpeed Insights tool.

To use PageSpeed Insights, simply enter your website’s URL into the tool and select your desired platform (desktop or mobile). The tool will then analyze your website and provide you with a detailed report on its loading speed.

The report will highlight any areas where your website is performing poorly and provide recommendations on how to improve its loading speed. Take some time to implement these recommendations, and then re-run the PageSpeed Insights tool to see if there has been an improvement.

On-page and Content

Texas Tech is a public university located in Lubbock, Texas. The school is a member of the Big 12 Conference and competes in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. As of the 2018 season, the Red Raiders have an all-time record of 801–571–42.

Fix duplicate, missing, and truncated title tags

Duplicate, missing, and truncated title tags can be a problem for your website for two reasons: first, they can cause your site to be penalized by search engines; and second, they can make it harder for users to find your site.

To avoid these problems, you should make sure that all of your title tags are unique and descriptive. Here are some tips for doing so:

– Use different titles for different pages on your site. Don’t use the same title tag on every page.
– Make sure your title tags are relevant to the content on each page. Don’t stuff keywords into your title tags just to try to get more traffic.
– Keep your title tags under 60 characters. Longer title tags will be truncated in search results, making it harder for users to see what your site is about.
– Use keyword-rich titles to help improve your search engine ranking. But don’t sacrifice clarity and relevance for the sake of a few keywords.

Find and fix duplicate or missing meta descriptions

One of the most important aspects of on-page SEO is making sure your meta tags are optimized. Meta tags are snippets of code that provide data about your website to search engines. The most important meta tag for SEO is the meta description.

The meta description is the short description that appears under your website’s title in the search engine results pages (SERPs). This is the text that convinces people to click through to your website, so it’s important to make sure it’s well-written and enticing.

Unfortunately, duplicate or missing meta descriptions are a common problem. If you have multiple pages with the same or no meta description, it’s time to fix that!

Here are a few tips for writing effective meta descriptions:

-Keep it under 155 characters: This is the maximum length that will appear in the SERPs. Anything over 155 characters will be truncated, so make sure you’re getting your point across in a short and sweet way.

-Include keywords: Use relevant keywords in your meta descriptions to help improve your click-through rate. However, don’t go overboard with keyword stuffing — just a few well-placed keywords will do the trick.

-Make it unique: Each page on your website should have its own unique meta description. Don’t try to write one generic meta description for your entire site — this will just result in duplicate content issues.

Find and fix multiple H1 tags

One of the most important things you can do when optimizing your website for search engines is to ensure that you are using the proper heading tags. Headings are used to help Search Engines determine the structure and hierarchy of your content, and they also give clues about the topic of a page to search engines.

The problem is that many site owners incorrectly use heading tags, resulting in errors that can hurt their site’s ranking and visibility. One common mistake is using multiple H1 tags on a page, when in reality, each page should only have ONE H1 tag.

So how can you fix this issue? It’s actually pretty simple. First, take a look at your website’s code and locate all of the H1 tags. If there are more than one, then you will need to choose which one is the most important and relevant to the topic of your page, and remove the others.

It’s also important to make sure that your H1 tag is properly formatted and uses the proper keyword or phrase. For example, if you are trying to rank for the keyword “dog food,” then your H1 tag should say “

Dog Food

” – not “

Best Dog Food

” or “

Dog Food

“.

By taking these simple steps, you can help ensure that your website is properly optimized and has a better chance of ranking well in search engine results pages.

Off-Page SEO

Texas Tech is currently ranked#48 in Football. This ranking is based on their recent performances and their overall record. Although they have not been able to maintain a consistent ranking, they have shown improvement in the past few years.

Off-page SEO involves optimizing your website for external factors that can affect your search engine rankings. This includes things like link building, social media engagement, and other forms of online promotion.

One of the most important aspects of off-page SEO is link building. This is the process of acquiring links from other websites back to your own. Link building is important because it signals to search engines that your site is popular and relevant, which can help improve your ranking.

There are a number of different ways to build links, but one of the most effective is to analyze your competitor’s link profile. This will give you an idea of where their links are coming from and how you can acquire similar links for your own site.

To do this, you’ll need to use a tool like Moz’s Open Site Explorer. This tool will allow you to see all the links pointing to a competitor’s website. From there, you can reach out to those sites and try to acquire links for your own site.

Link building is just one aspect of off-page SEO, but it’s an important one. By analyzing your competitor’s link profile, you can identify opportunities to improve your own search engine ranking.

A link intersect analysis is a way of finding out which websites are linking to multiple websites within a particular niche or industry. This can be a useful way of identifying sites that are influential within that sphere, and which might be worth approaching for links or partnerships.

To do a link intersect analysis, you’ll need to use a tool like Ahrefs or Moz’s Open Site Explorer. Once you have these tools set up, you can enter the URLs of several websites in your niche (try to choose a mix of large and small sites) and see which other websites link to all of them.

This will give you a good idea of which sites are the most important in your niche, and which ones you should try to build links from.

when a website links to another website, they are effectively vouching for that website. If your competitor has a link from a highly trusted website, then that link is going to carry a lot of weight. On the other hand, if your competitor has a link from a low-quality or irrelevant website, then that link is not going to carry much weight.

To take advantage of your competitor’s broken backlinks, you need to find those links and then contact the website that is linking to your competitor and let them know that the link is broken. You can then offer them a replacement link to your website. Because you are offering them a replacement for a broken link, there is a good chance they will accept your offer.

There are many tools that you can use to find your competitor’s broken backlinks, but my favorite tool is Ahrefs. Ahrefs is a paid tool, but they do have a 7-day trial that you can use to find your competitor’s broken backlinks.
